spacious room, good shower, nice walks
Not impressed with the dog-friendly policy. it's confusing!!! A locked up inn by 9 PM with no lunch option available after a long journey is simply inconvenient!!! Early breakfast requests met with a firm 'no'!!!

the dukes head inn is a fabulous little pub, perfectly located for a stop on the way to scotland, just off the m6. it's also close to the lake district, making it a lovely weekend getaway. the bed was super comfy, and the hot shower had great pressure. the staff were welcoming and friendly, which made our stay even better! we enjoyed the tasty food with big portions, and breakfast was excellent.

The Superior King Room offers ample space for relaxation, with a comfortable bed and charming decor. Located in a tranquil area, it's perfect for unwinding after a long journey.
Those seeking meals might find it tricky, as lunch isn’t available. Dinner reservations feel restrictive. only one slot at 6.45 pm offered despite a quiet dining room. Breakfast is pre-booked the night before, with limited options if you're in a rush. We expected a proper hearty Cumbrian breakfast but ended up with toast and juice left outside our room. Confusion around dog-friendly policies. we were told dogs weren't allowed in the room despite seeing others with pets. For £160 a night, we thought there'd be more flexibility and amenities.

Cozy and Clean!
We stayed here for a night and our room was small but super clean and comfy. The staff were really friendly and the bar had some good snacks! Just wish the bathroom was a bit larger.

Had a lovely stay at Dukes Head Inn! The location is perfect for exploring the Lake District, with a charming local pub nearby offering great food. The room was cozy, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. Breakfast exceeded expectations with a good variety. One downside, the first night the room was quite chilly because the heating wasn’t on, and we had to turn on the radiators ourselves. We ended up having to grab something at a service station, which was a letdown. I appreciated the friendly service from the duty manager, who kept the bar open for us. All in all, it had a cozy vibe, but better communication about dining options would enhance the experience.

Had an amazing time with friends! We explored the stunning Lake District and visited Hadrian's Wall. The place had a cozy vibe and friendly staff, which made our stay super enjoyable. Definitely recommend checking out the local pub for excellent food and drinks!
Our room didn’t have enough hot water one morning, which was a bit disappointing after a long day.

Charming stay with room for improvement
We enjoyed our stay in the spacious Superior King Room. The peaceful location offered lovely walks nearby. Do note, the breakfast options are limited, so plan ahead for your choices. Arriving early for dinner is recommended as the kitchen closes promptly. a pleasant experience with some minor drawbacks.

The recently refurbished room made for a comfortable sleep. The ample parking made it easy for me to come and go. I enjoyed the garden view, which added a nice touch to my stay.
Shower pressure could have been better.
